the Position

Work for an Australian and owned fully incorporated company based on beautiful tree-lined streets of Balanga. 

Our Client, who builds farm management software and online services across both financial and farm production sectors. We are looking for an experienced Delphi engineer to join the Delphi team in the development and maintenance of our Phoenix Win32 client application. The Delphi team is part of the wider development team building Phoenix iOS, Android and web-based client apps, along with Azure backend systems. You'll be part of a small, privately owned and profitable business with a 40-year history in software development.

This is a rare opportunity to put your skills to work over a long period of time, as part of an established and Australian development team. And as an Australian client, you work a standard 7 am to 4 pm daily.

What
You’ll Do

  • Writing code. This is an "on-tools" position.
  • Preparing feature requirements and software design documents.
  • Ensuring each feature is designed and implemented according to its requirements.
  • Reviewing pull requests from other Delphi developers.
  • Ensuring software quality standards are adhered to and all code submitted is adhering to S.O.L.I.D. principles.
  • Consulting and working with other development areas and business units within the organisation.

What we're
looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or any related field
  • Have a firm grasp of the Delphi language and environment.
  • Are experienced in the use of Delphi VCL technology.
  • Have sound SQL database design knowledge and experience.
  • Are comfortable making good decisions around dependency, maintainability, and extensibility.

While not critical to your application, it would be advantageous if you:

  • Have experience with Delphi Sydney and/or Alexandria versions.
  • Have experience with dependency injection using the Delphi Spring Framework (Spring4D).
  • Have experience developing unit tests using the DUnitX and Delphi.Mocks frameworks.
  • Have experience with REST API use.
  • Have experience in pull request code reviews.
  • Are familiar with the GitHub ecosystem.
